Torquay police dog helps in arrest of machete wielding man

Police dog Saka was crucial in the capture and arrest of a machete wielding man. 

Police had received reports of a man threatening the public with a large knife in Torquay. When Saka's handler found and apprehended the man, no knife was found. However, Saka made light work of finding the knife, which was in an alley nearby. 

In a post, Devon Police Dogs said: "Report of a male brandishing a large knife in the street threatening others in Torquay. Saka's handler located & detained the male, but no knife was found on him.

"Saka searched the area where he was stopped & located a machete hidden in a nearby alley. Male arrested."
